Events
The fourth WINMEC wireless internet data and enterprise conference was held in May 2003 at which we had 75 speakers and 300+ attendees (http://wireless.ucla.edu/2003s). Planning for the next (fifth) event, scheduled for October 29-30th, 2003 is under way (http://wireless.ucla.edu/). The National Science Foundation is a co-sponsor of this event. If you have speakers whom you would like to nominate from your company, please send an email to conference@wireless.ucla.edu. Also, if you have a partner company whom you would like represented, please do not hesitate to forward them information about our event. The sixth WINMEC event is scheduled for May 4-5th, 2004. WINMEC, in partnership with the Anderson Business School is putting together an event at which 35 CIOs will be invited to get together in a one-day event (date - Feb 18, 2004, location - Korn Hall, Anderson Business School, url - http://cio-conference.ucla.edu/) to discuss issues on mobility, global enterprise and outsourcing that are important for the CIO in today's business climate. If you would like to attend/participate/sponsor/have a booth at this event, please send an email to info@cio-conference.ucla.edu. This event will be separate from the two events that WINMEC presents each year. WINMEC has received interest from faculty, companies and venture capitalists to host a one day event on campus on new wireless technologies with the potential to do startups. We are planning to invite our affiliated universities to this event. If you are a UCLA-WINMEC member company, you may send a speaker to this event. This event will be held alongside the 7th Wireless Internet Conference in November 2004 on the afternoon of Day Two.
